EXTAG, along with 44 other dynamic Western Australian companies, participated in the Indo Pacific International Maritime Exposition 2023 (INDOPAC), marking WA's largest-ever defence industries delegation selected to go across to Sydney with Defence West and the Office of Defence Industry Support (ODIS).

Hosted at the International Convention Centre Sydney, INDOPAC provided an unparalleled platform for businesses to spotlight their cutting-edge contributions to the defence sector.

Linda Dawson, Deputy Director-General for the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science, and Innovation, praised the strategic exposure attained through fostering contract partnerships for WA's SMEs within the defence industry. This success not only solidifies existing relationships but also unlocks future pathways, integrating SMEs into the defence supply chain, thereby reinforcing support for the Australian Defence Force.

"To have a conference and exposition like Indo Pacific, to be able to showcase capability and win contracts and do Australia proud on the international stage is just awesome"

emphasised Linda Dawson, highlighting the expo's significance.

The three-day expo highlighted Western Australia's innovation, with EXTAG and another leading WA business, Onetide, featured at the main wall for the Innovation Awards Showcase.

Day 2 saw EXTAG CTO Gabe Alves sharing the Innovation Pitchfest stage with 21 innovators, including our Western Australian counterparts, Rebekah Manley from Onetide, Artur Lugmayr from UXMachines Pty Ltd, and Alex Marr from Benalty Corporation.

INDOPAC concluded with a sense of shared accomplishment among delegates, underlining the potency of collaboration and laying a solid foundation for future opportunities.

"It was fantastic to be at Indopac following up only weeks after the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) expo, not only to consolidate many new relationships, but to also build on our understanding of the defence sectors’ needs from a maritime perspective."

expressed Gabe Alves.

INDOPAC remains the premier defence exposition, fostering connections among defence, industry, government, academia, and technology leaders in the region.
