Gabe Alves from EXTAG Custom Asset Management, speaking with visitors at Agrifutures evokeAG Expo

PERTH, Australia

EXTAG, known for its innovative solutions in mining and resources, is actively exploring new opportunities in the agrifood sector, as showcased at AgriFutures evokeAG 2024. The event, held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, is recognised as the Asia-Pacific region’s premier agrifood tech gathering, attracting over 1,800 delegates and making it the largest evokeAG to date.

At the event, EXTAG presented its cutting-edge asset management solutions to a diverse audience of agricultural leaders, universities, investors, and government officials. As part of the AgXelerate program and featured in Startup Alley, EXTAG highlighted how its platform—widely used in industries like mining and resources—can be adapted to agriculture to provide enhanced visibility and traceability for agribusinesses.

Western Australia’s Minister for Innovation and the Digital Economy, Hon Stephen Dawson, visited EXTAG’s stand during his tour of Startup Alley, underscoring the government’s recognition of local companies driving technological innovation. Minister Dawson’s visit not only signalled strong government interest but also highlighted EXTAG’s potential to contribute to the growth of WA’s agrifood tech sector.

"evokeAG provided a unique platform for EXTAG to engage with key stakeholders in the agrifood tech sector, especially food processing,"

said Gabe Alves, Founder of EXTAG.

Our solutions, originally developed for asset-intensive industries like oil and gas, have the potential to revolutionise the sector by improving asset maintenance, reducing inefficiencies, and delivering real-time data insights."

Also in attendance was Hon Jackie Jarvis MLC, Minister for Agriculture and Food, who showed support for Western Australian companies applying advanced technologies to agriculture.

Through the AgXelerate accelerator program, EXTAG benefited from valuable mentorship and resources, helping refine its approach to entering the agricultural market. The program is designed to support ventures with innovative solutions that can transform agrifood, offering critical networking and investment opportunities.

The two-day evokeAG event, themed ‘Exceptional Edge,’ featured keynote speeches, panel discussions, and demonstrations addressing challenges such as climate change, food security, and sustainability. International experts in emerging tech also explored the transformative role of artificial intelligence in the agrifood sector.

As EXTAG continues to explore opportunities in agriculture, EXTAG is confident that its platform will streamline operations and support sustainability efforts in the industry.
